Probably one of the most frequently asked questions and rightly so. Your clothing contributes greatly to the overall image.  Co-ordinating your colour palette does help create a cohesive look and generally, plain colours work best.  Try to avoid graphic patterns; bold stripes or zigzags for example can distracting to the eye, as can logos or anything with a strong contrast.  The important thing is that you are all comfortable and look like you.

The best location is a place where you and your family can feel happy, comfortable and relaxed.
This might be at home, a local park or beach or maybe you have your own special ‘somewhere’.
Activities can also make for some fantastic photos; is there a sport you all enjoy?, a hobby you share? or a ‘day out’ you’d all enjoy?

I will keep an eye on the ‘5 day weather’ forecast in the run up to our shoot. If the weather looks bad, we can reschedule at no extra cost.

We can reschedule at no extra cost but please try to notify me as soon as possible.

If you want to bring the family dog, that’s fine but do let me know beforehand so we can make sure dogs are permitted at our chosen location (and that I bring treats and poo bags!)

There is no time limit on the shoot. I will allow enough time on the day for us all to get in the groove and feel at ease with one another.
In my experience, 1 – 2 hours is just about right but there can be occasions when we need a little longer. Maybe one of the children is a little shy, reluctant or grumpy. Or the dog runs off. Or the location is unexpectedly busy. No problem. I will work with you to make sure we get a fabulous set of images, whatever gets in our way.

I like to provide you with a selection of images; some posed, others taken as you interact naturally together. If needed, I will offer direction but this is more about positioning you for the best background and most flattering light. Most of all, it’s about you being you.

You can expect 20 – 30 images in your online gallery. From this gallery you can choose three images to be professionally printed. In addition, all gallery images will be supplied in digital format on USB or disc.

Yes and no.  Images viewed straight from a digital cameral can look a little ‘flat’. Therefore, the post production work on the photographs is likely to be a little colour balance, contrast and sharpening. This will give the images a bit of professional ‘pop and polish’ but we will not make any ‘structural’ changes to the images.

Your gallery will be available to view within 2 – 3 weeks of your shoot.

You can pay by cheque, internet bank transfer or Paypal. Payment is due immediately after your shoot and before your images are released.

Please email me even if you just want more information before making up your mind. I am very approachable and I promise, no hard sell 🙂

Wonderful. Please email me; let me know what kind of shoot you are thinking of, the number of people involved, where you are based, and a rough idea on date. I’ll then be in touch and we can get the ball rolling.

I no longer take wedding commissions under my own name but I do work regularly as a ‘second shooter’.
If you are looking for a wedding photographer I can happily recommend some highly talented people.
